DOLLS-DRACO Pop: a pink sculpture that confronts pop culture with military imagery.
Assembled from reworked doll figurines, DOLLS-DRACO Pop turns a Draco silhouette into a sculptural object that is deliberately seductive and unsettling. Light pink, associated with innocence and pop aesthetics, collides here with a form immediately linked to violence.
This tension lies at the heart of the piece: making the object visually appealing in order to better question how violent images can be stylized, shared and consumed as mere objects of visual culture.
The surface remains legible both up close and from a distance: each doll contributes to the overall form while retaining its own individual presence. The piece is part of the DOLLS WEAPONS series by SVHAINE ALVAREZ.
