FAQ: Who am I? Why this name?
Share
My artist name is Svhaine Alvarez. This name, loaded with meaning, is a fusion of my origins and my personal quest through art.
Svhaine draws its roots from Sven , the first name of my Swedish great-grandfather. Sweden represents for me a distant part of my roots, a cold and refined territory that contrasts sharply with Spain, the warm and vibrant country to which my surname, Alvarez , is connected. Yet a paradox persists: I do not know my Spanish family. This empty space, this lack of connection, fuels my reflection and is expressed in my artistic work.
This name is also a symbolic construction. By integrating the word hate has Sven , I do not seek to glorify it, but to transform it. I make it a source of creative energy, a "hainérgie" that nourishes my works. Finally, this linguistic choice echoes France, my country, where my artistic vision was able to blossom and develop.
My art
Through my sculptures, I create works that are both visual and conceptual: rifles formed by hundreds of toy soldiers. This work explores notions of conflict, identity and transformation. Each piece tells a story – mine, but also that of those who view it, free to interpret.
My art, like my name, is a mix of cultures, emotions and stories. It is a way for me to reconnect these fragments of my origins, while leaving a mark on the artistic world.
